Concrete is poured thanks to the hard work of Dave Benn, Dave Cady, Larry & Ashley!
Our fearless leader, Dave Cady of Performance Homes! Dave, Matt, Tom & Jacob spending their Saturday hard at work. Saturday's work done! Thank you Dave, Will, Keith, Jacob, Tom & Matt!
Much is happening with our school's playground fundraising efforts - here are the highlights:
Give a HAND Update: Thank you to everyone who has given a HAND to the playground! In just 7 days, we have raised $2,983 towards our new playground! Add an additional $815 coming in from our neighbors in the community and that brings our total to $3,798! Totally amazing. Remember, you can buy hands at drop-offs and pick-ups most school days and through this website by clicking on the "Helping Hands" tab. Next week, ghosts, pumpkins, and spiders will be taking over our hand fundraiser - from October 26th through October 29th, students can bring in any amount and decorate our spider web to show their support! The first 50 students to empty their piggy banks will receive a $5 gift certificate to Sunny's Legendary Frozen Yogurt! Thank you Sunny's! We'll be back to our regular programming the following two weeks before ending our fundraiser with a fun Civil War-themed version! Stay tuned! Phase I Update: If you have not had an opportunity to do so, please stop by and say goodbye to our wood play structure tomorrow. After 31 years of entertaining children and providing the occasional splinter, it is officially coming down! Performance Homes will be hard at work starting Wednesday preparing for the installation of the first phase of our playground. If the stars align, the new components will be up and ready for use by Tuesday, October 27th! Several awesome past and present Hayhurst parents have offered to help Performance Homes with the installation this weekend. If you have experience in construction, or putting together you kids' toys, and are interested in volunteering, please email Courtney at [email protected]. Finally, we wanted to point out Dave and Tina Cady at Performance Homes are generously donating their time to excavate, site prep, and install the first phase of the playground. If you happen to be in the neighborhood while they are hard at work, please stop by and say thank you! Once the installation is complete, we will have a large poster for all to sign and thank Performance Homes. If you have any other creative ideas on how to thank them, please email Courtney at [email protected]. Dream Big Sponsors Update: Our list of available components is running low thanks to everyone who has stepped forward to sponsor our playground! A HUGE thank you to our latest sponsor, Alexa Pollin Marcum, for sponsoring our Seek Panel!!! Click on the "Sponsorship" tab to see what remains! Starting Monday, October 12th and running through Friday, November 20th, you can help support our playground fundraising efforts by purchasing a hand in dollar denominations of $25, $50 or $100! 100 percent of the proceeds goes to our school's Dream Big Project which is in the final fundraising push for our new, dream playground!
Look for us outside the principal's office at drop-offs and pick-ups, buy a hand and then hang it up to show your support! You also can purchase hands by clicking on the tab "Helping Hands." That means anyone, anywhere can buy a hand! So, please share the site with anyone you believe would be interested in supporting our fundraising efforts! Our goal is to raise $5,000 through this fundraiser. Just think - if 200 families purchase a $25 hand we will have reached our fundraising goal! And, every hand purchased is tax deductible, so why stop at one? Our hand fundraiser will run throughout October and conclude with a special Civil War-themed finale running from November 16th through November 20th where we'll be selling orange or green hands, depending on your school allegiance, and raffling off cool ducks and beavers prizes! Finally, a HUGE thank you to our latest Dream Big Sponsors - the Georgitsa/Yefremova Family who sponsored our Cross Loop Climber and Noah Martin Greenberg who sponsored our Pilot Panel!!! |
